Preliminary event instructions The final instructions will be published on the day of competition. The event will be conducted according to the rules of the Finnish Orienteering Federation, and the instructions of the organizer. Organizers
Starts The first starts will be at 18:00. No pre-starts. Late registrations will start at the beginning of each class. Orienteers who are late register with the late-entry person at the start. Orienteers will be called to the Start 4 minutes before the start time at Start 1, and 5 minutes before at Start 2. Both Starts will be closed 15 min after the last entry. Marked routes to the Starts begin at the Info pole at the Event centre.
Map The map is by Ari Salonen 5/2018, scale 1:10 000, size SRA4, for classes H/D10-12 1:7500 size A4, for classes H/D50-85 1:7500, size A3. Contour interval 5 m, size A4, SRA4 or A3. printed map, weatherproof material. Terrain The terrain is pine-dominated forest with good runability. Height differences are small.
Start lists Start lists are available on the webpages, at the Starts and on the results board.
Marked routes to the Starts Marked routes to start from the Info pole. Start 1 1700 m yellow marking Model control A model control is situated by the Info pole. Please, test your Emit card at the model control. If your card doesn’t work, rent another at the Info.
Emit Check that the number of your own Emit card corresponds to the number on the start list. If it does not, please make a correction at the Info. To use a different Emit card from the one you had originally registered, changing the number will cost 2 euros. Those who have not indicated their own card number in registration have to rent a card at the Info. The cost of renting (5 euros) has to be paid in cash. Rented cards have to be returned at the Info. Those who do not return the card will be charged 70 euros. Emit card check slips are available at the Starts. The cards will be reset and activated when entering the Start. Split times will appear on the web right after the race. In some controls the code shown on your Emits card's screen may be different from the one in the control descriptions.
Numbers Bib numbers are available at the event center near the Info pole. If possible, bring your own pins to attach them. Pins can be purchased at the info and the prize is 1 € / 4 pcs. The bib number has to be readable at the Finish. At the finish, the bib numbers need to be returned to the official after the result service.
Control descriptions Control descriptions are printed on the map. They are also available on separate sheets at Starts. Please have your own accessory to tie up the separate control description sheet. The descriptions for children’s routes are to be seen in the result board.
Special instructions to Start 2: 5 minutes before the start time: Orienteers will be called to the Start, where the map with the routes of RR and TR classes are in view. Other classes can have a look at the map where the start point is marked. Guides will be helping. 4 minutes: Emit card will be checked. 3 minutes: Emit card will be reset and activated. 2 minutes: Orienteers in the classes RR and TR will get their maps, and RR class will be guided. Other classes can have a look at the map where the start point is marked. 1 minute: Orienteers in the classes H/D12 and older can take their map, and have a look at it. Orienteers in the classes RR and TR can keep looking at their own maps. In the case of false or missing punching in the RR-classes, the competitor will not be disqualified but an extra 10 minutes will be added to the finishing time for each false punching.
Marked route orienteering The route of classes H/D10RR and H/D12TR is marked on the terrain with a white string on the ground. The route is marked in orange on the map.
Crossing the roads Please be careful when crossing the roads and running on them.
Last control At the last control there are two stamps for punching. The control numbers are 150 and RR5 and both can be punched.
Finish A marked route from the last control to the Finish. Emit punching at the finish line. The Finish will be closed at 21:00. Maps will not be collected at the Finish. Remember fair play: do not show your map to those who have not started yet!
Dropped out participants Dropped out participants have to register at the Finish.
Prizes For classes H/D10-14 and H/D21A the prize giving will take place approximately 20 min after finishing of each class. The prizes for other classes can be obtained from the prize tent after the results are ready. A lottery prize (sports watch) will be drawn at 19:30. Prizes will not be sent out afterwards.
Rastiralli (An orienteering course for small children) Small children can, accompanied by an adult, do the RR route after the competition. Maps can be purchased at the Info 15 minutes after the last competitor's entry of the RR route. A prize for everybody. Participation fee is 2 euros.
Open classes There are two open classes, 3 km and 5 km. Participation fee 10 €. Registrations and payments at the Info after 18 o'clock. There is a separate finish for open classes, do not run to the competitors' finish.
Toilets and the place for washing Toilets are situated at the event center. Showers are available in Humppila School centre. There is also a good beach in Humppila centre, 1.5 km from the event centre.
Restaurant There is a cafeteria and grill-type catering service at the event center. Child care Free child care is available throughout the evening in the event centre. Embargoed areas Embargoed areas are marked with white-red tapes. First aid Forssa Red Cross will be serving at the event centre in a tent. Jury Members
